What we process and why
- Technical requests: our hosting and security services process information such as your IP address, requested page, request time and browser details to deliver and protect the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable service.
- Support correspondence: if you email us, we receive your email address, the information you provide and any necessary attachments. We use these to answer your request, deal with licensing or complaints and protect legal rights. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you, steps requested before a contract where relevant, and legal obligations where applicable.
- Your browser choices: saved pages, book selections and butterfly mascot preferences remain in local browser storage to provide the features you choose. They are not uploaded to a customer account.
- Analytics (optional): with your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, traffic sources and how the site is used, so we can improve the printables. Requests go to our own domain and our server forwards them to Google. Before you choose, analytics uses no cookies or persistent identifiers; if you decline, no analytics data is sent. The website has no advertising trackers, newsletter registration or payment-data collection. We do not sell visitors’ personal information or use it for automated profiling.
Names in generated worksheets
The name or practice text you enter in the Name Tracing Generator stays in your browser. It is used to render the sheet and is not submitted to our server. Exporting or printing saves a file on your device or sends it to the printer you select. We do not build profiles of children or ask children to register. Please avoid sending children’s details in support emails.
Service providers and external requests
Hosting and security providers process technical information needed to run the service. Cloudflare provides traffic delivery and security. Google Analytics measures website use when you allow it. Google Fonts supplies the website fonts, so your browser makes font requests to Google. Support email is received through Gmail.
These providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Details of their processing locations and transfer safeguards appear in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. You may contact us for further information about recipients and safeguards relevant to your request. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary for legal claims.
How long information is kept
Browser selections and mascot preferences stay on your device until you remove them, clear site storage or your browser removes them. Generator text is not retained by us.
Support correspondence and technical records are kept only as long as needed for the request, service security, applicable legal requirements or a legal claim. We assess retention according to the type of record, the purpose and whether further retention remains necessary; there is no single retention period for every record. Provider-controlled technical records follow the relevant provider’s retention settings and policies. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months; our own analytics records are used only for aggregate statistics.
Your privacy rights
Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions.

Updates
If our data practices change, we will update this notice. Adding payments or another service will require a corresponding privacy notice before that service is used.
